Yo, This is My Work.
30/09/14
Dear Diary,
Today I have learned that care must be taken to make the emotions of characters clear. Body language is perhaps even more important than dialogue in an animation.
07/10/14
Dear Diary,
Today I made a thaumatrope ( which means magic turning) it is a two-sided circle, with half an image on each side. When it is spun quickly the images merge. I made one with a horse on one side and a guy on the other, when spun the guy rode the horse.
Later in the lesson I made a zoetrope, which is an evolution of the previously mentioned thaumatrope. It is a cylinder with slits in the sides, an series of images are placed inside. When the cylinder is spun by looking through the eye-holes you can see the images moving in sequence.
14/10/14
Dear Diary,
Today I made posable robot character and created a background scene to produce a stop-motion walk sequence.
4/11/14
Dear Diary,
Today I started working on task one, I researched into the history of animation and summarised my findings.
11/11/14
Dear Diary,
I continued my work on the history of animation, adding more detail to my work and placing images to help visualise some of the animation techniques I talked about.
1/12/14
Dear Diary,
Today I improved task one.
2/12/14
Dear Diary,
Today I produced a storyboard for my idea, I also started to make the assets I required for my animation.
9/12/14
Dear Diary,
I finalised the production of the assets I needed and completed task two.
14/12/14
Dear Diary,
Today I filmed my animation using a bird nest camera. It has an extreme macro lens, allowing me to get right close up to the artwork, producing an unsettling effect. The camera, being wireless, also stutters and glitches out occasionally, furthering the disturbing atmosphere.
I also produced a noise track to use as my audio for the piece, I achieved this breathing, whistling, and scratching things into a microphone.
15/12/14
Dear Diary,
I began editing the video. After asking for some advice, I was told that the opening titles may be difficult to read as they would be cropped on a television screen.
16/12/14
Dear Dairy,
Today I reshot my titles and completed the editing of my animation. I also produced an evaluation of my work.
